BEST BET 🏆

Race 6:  No.5  THUNDER MOON  ($1.95 with bet365)

The Mark Currie-trained THUNDER MOON makes his Kilcoy debut today and in career-best form this time in, looks the one to beat in this contest. Last start, the Shalaa gelding was second-up when he took out a Class 1 Hcp over 1000m on his home track at Toowoomba. Sent out a white-hot $1.90 favourite, he eventually wore down the leader to grab victory in the closing stages that day. He draws wide here in gate 10 (of 12) but has plenty of early gate speed and maps to be settle right behind the pace. He should find this a little easier than his last-start win and should take beating today.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 9:  No.1  DREAMSEEKER  ($3 with bet365)

Team Geran saddle-up DREAMSEEKER here who is in career-best form and will take beating in this contest. Last start, the Rubick mare made light work of a BM58 at Warwick when she beat home a 10-strong field over the 1350m trip. She ran her last 600m, 1 length quicker than benchmark, the best last-start effort in this field. She also posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. She sees the Kilcoy track for the first time today as she steps up to 1500m but a winner of four of her past six starts suggests the four-year-old is at the top of her game at the moment and will take beating here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7:  No.6  FRIEND OF GOD  ($3.30 with Palmerbet)

Toowoomba galloper FRIEND OF GOD loves racing here and looks well placed here to ring-up career win number three today. Last start, the Trusting mare came off a runner-up finish (here in Class 2 company) when she finished on the podium again in a BM0-58 over the mile at Beaudesert. Third-up that day, she fought on strongly to claim third prize, beaten less than two lengths on the line. Michael Hellyer was in the saddle that day and sticks with the mare for this assignment. Already a track and distance winner, the time looks right for the step-up to the 1900m today and at her peak here, she looks the one beat.
