BEST BET 🏆   

Race 2 No. 5 CAT EMPIRE- ($3.50) 

This is a weak race and CAT EMPIRE can capitalize. The four-year-old stepped out at Stawell on February 22 over the 1107m for her first run since transferring to the Vincent Malady stable and produced the fastest last 200m to run 4th behind Grinzinger Ace. She did a few things wrong in the run but worked home well. Second up and the step to the 1200m looks like it will suit.

Race 6 No. 9 SUBLIMINAL- ($3.30) 

SUBLIMINAL can go close in Race 6. The Leon & Troy Corstens-trained galloper has placed at her past couple of runs and settled midfield at Albury over the 1175m on February 18, producing the last 200m to just miss behind Shooting For Stars. She was 3rd at Wangaratta prior to that. The daughter of Merchant Navy drops to BenchMark 58 and gives the impression that the step up in trip should suit, while she draws well in barrier 5. 

BEST VALUE 💰   

Race 5 No. 10 LILIDAN- ($7) 

LILIDAN can just about make it back to back wins when she steps out in Race 5 of the day. The three-year-old seemed to relish the step up in trip at Stawell on February 22, attracting some support at odds before setting a solid tempo out front and winning well from Piglet, with those two putting a big gap on the rest. She steps up to the 1900m and can measure up.
