Race 2 No. 9 TAKARA- ($3.10)

TAKARA can break the maiden in Race 2. The Maher/Eustace galloper resumed at Horsham on October 16 and ran on from worse than midfield to land in the runner-up slot behind Holymanz. She was held up from the 500m to the 200m in that race before landing three lengths away. Form out of that maiden has been strong with three going on to win, while she comes in with the best last start benchmark figures of any runner. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 

Race 8 No. 6 NUMPTY- ($5.50)

NUMPTY can break a bit of a drought in Race 8. The five-year-old has won just one of 14 but has placed in seven and hasn’t been far away in her three runs this time in. The Archie Alexander-trained mare overcame a wide run to finish runner-up behind Grassmere Jewel over the 1200m at Casterton on October 18 before again missing out behind that horse when 4th at her most recent start. She drew wide and worked hard in the early stages before just fading late. A firmer in the early betting, the daughter of Free Eagle should be nearing her peak and can go very close.
