BEST BET 🏆

Race 7:  No.4  CHICKERARTIE   ($2.40 with bet365)

The Stephen Lee-trained CHICKERARTIE is in sensational form this time in and looks the best of the day form here. Last start, the Flying Artie mare brought up her third win this campaign when she clobbered them in a BM58 Hcp, here over 1210m. Putting almost tow lengths on the field, she ran her last 600m, 2 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up. She also posted the fastest final 200m sectional for the race. Les Tilley is two from two with four-year-old and looking for a hat-trick himself today. Meeting similar company today, she looks the benchmark in this contest.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 2:  No.1  SEA OF QI  ($2.80 with Palmerbet)

The Ballina-based galloper SEA OF QI had success at his only visit (to date) here and looks well placed to make it two-from-two in this contest. Last start, the Direct Charge gelding came off that Lismore Maiden win and lined-up in a stronger Class 2 over 1550m at Murwillumbah where he did well to claim the bronze medal that day. He ran the trip, 5.3 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best last-start effort here by 4 lengths. He drops back in grade today and is reunited with Danny Peisley who rode him to that Maiden win two starts back. This looks easier today and fitter for three runs back, he looks the testing material in this event.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5:  No.1  SOPHIA’S LASS  ($3.70 with Ladbrokes)

The locally-trained SOPHIA’S LASS is second-up today and looks poised to claim her second home-track victory here. Last start, the Better Than Ready filly came off a nine-week break where she finished mid-field in a BM66 Hcp over 1200m at Murwillumbah. She set a new personal best that day, running it out, 4 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best in this field. She drops in grade today and is reunited with Matty McGuren who has ridden the filly to both career wins to date. She has extra weight to carry today but is already a winner when second-up and boasts a home-track victory as well. Well drawn in gate five, she can give this a real shake today.
