Our form expert provides Lismore tips for today’s horse racing at Lismore Racecourse and gives his best bets.

BEST BET 🏆

Race 1:  No.4  LASTING KISS  ($3.70 with Ladbrokes)

The Stephen Lee-trained LASTING KISS has been knocking on the door at her past couple of starts and now looks ready to win. Last start, the Real Impact mare just found one a little better on the day when finishing second (beaten a neck) in a BM75 Hcp over the mile at Doomben. Unwanted in the market ($21), she ran a new personal best that day, covering the 1600m, 5.3 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here. Down 2.5kgs here, Ben Looker has the reins for the first time and ideally drawn in gate three, the mare maps to settle in the first half-dozen. Her only visit to Lismore ended in a win so she is no stranger to the track. With a trouble-free run here, she can give this a real shake today.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6:  No.2  DUBAI TYCOON  ($6 with bet365)

The Brett Cavanough-trained DUBAI TYCOON has been set for this race and looks every chance of bringing up the hat-trick today. Last start, the Written Tycoon gelding made it back-to-back wins when he won the Prelude for this race at Murwillumbah. Despite overracing most of the way, he took control in the closing stages and got the job done in the end. He ran his last 600m, 8 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up, while posting the fastest final 800m, 600m and 400m sectionals as well. Brooke Stower steered him home that day and sticks with him today. She will look to settle him near mid-field with cover and have the last crack at them in the home. Already a three-time winner over the distance, he will be rock-hard fit after four starts in and looks a real threat in this contest.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5:  No.3  MA MA’S ROSE  ($8 with Palmerbet)

Gold Coast galloper MA MA’S ROSE sees the Lismore track for the first time today but looks well placed here for back-to-back victories. Last start, the Golden Archer mare ploughed through Heavy 10 conditions to take out a BM0-58 Hcp over 1350m on her home track. Setting a new personal best, she covered the trip, 1.6 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best in this field. She also posted the fastest final 800m-200m sectionals for the race. Anthony Allen sticks with her here and avoiding any hold-ups in the race, she will be finishing strongly in the run home and is capable of victory today at odds.
