BEST BET 🏆 

Race 2 No. 5 HOOFS DON’T LIE- ($1.80)

HOOFS DON’T LIE comes back gelded and this looks much easier than his first two career runs, which came back in winter. On debut he was held up at Caulfield and worked home strong out wide before placing 3rd to Thron Bone over the 1100m. At Flemington he led them up over the 1000m before being run down by Giga Kick, finishing 5th to the eventual Everest (1200m) winner. Market before the jump will be the best guide but that form is fairly strong for this.

Race 1 No. 9 FIRST IMMORTAL- ($3.10)

FIRST IMMORTAL can go close in the opener at Moe. The Mark & Levi Kavanagh-trained galloper made up some solid ground on debut over the unsuitable 1400m before stepping up to the 1600m at Bendigo and running on for 4th behind Silver Up. The son of Churchill went 0.5 lengths slower than standard benchmark at Bendigo, which is a better figure than what any horse has produced. He has been strong late in his races and looks like he wants the 2000m. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 

Race 8 No. 12 BRILLIANT MELODY- ($3.50)

BRILLIANT MELODY should be hard to beat in Race 8. The filly from the Maher/Eustace stable was a winner at Murtoa two starts ago before heading to Sandown and doing a few things wrong when 6th to Midtown Boss over the 1200m. She led and raced keenly before fading. Step back to the 1000m might be better and the daughter of Jukebox just needs to overcome the wide barrier with Ben Allen to ride.
