Race 2 No. 4 GOLD REVOLVER- ($3.60)
GOLD REVOLVER can break the maiden in Race 2. The Waterhouse & Bott galloper stepped out at Wangaratta on December 30 for what was his third career start and first of his current preparation. He settled in the lead and was run down late by Etienne. The son of Russian Revolution should be an improver at his second run and comes in with the best last start benchmark figure of any runner. He is the likely leader here and the one they need to catch.

Race 4 No. 2 COUNTRY’S LIGHT- ($4.50)
COUNTRY’S LIGHT looks well placed in Race 4. The four-year-old resumed at Geelong on Boxing Day over the 1430m and settled back in the field of 12 before working home well for 6th, beaten just over three lengths. At his second run last time he was a significant improver on benchmark figures when going 6.4 lengths faster than standard to finish runner-up at Flemington. Step up to the 1600m is in his favour and he should be strong late in the piece.

Race 8 No. 1 HIGH DONE- ($5)
We close off with a BenchMark 58 and HIGH DONE can go close to taking this out. The local galloper drops sharply in grade and wasn’t far away in a BM70 on New Years Eve at Moonee Valley over the 1600m, sticking on well to run 5th, beaten just one length by Real Sensation. He meets the 3rd placegetter out of that but is better at the weights and is another that is likely to take some running down.
