BEST BET 🏆   

Race 8 No. 4 MIDTOWN BOSS- ($2.40) 

Going with MIDTOWN BOSS in the Summer Sprint Final. The Matt Laurie-trained galloper has finished out of the placings just once in his nine start career and has some recent form against some quality gallopers. He was dominant ahead of Mornington Glory three starts ago before going down narrowly behind Rey Magnerio. At his most recent start, the four-year-old couldn’t quite reel in Twin Perfection on a day when the leaders dominated at Caulfield. A winner of two from three over the 1200m, he gets the gun run from barrier 2 and will be hard to beat.

Race 7 No. 3 CATAHOULA- ($3.60) 

CATAHOULA can just about make it back to back wins when she steps out in Race 7. The Team Hawkes filly had a nice time of it at the track and trip on February 16 when gaining the rails run to defeat Bluestone Lane. She went 1.4 lengths faster than standard that night, which is the best last start figure of any runner. The daughter of Shalaa should have scope for further improvement at the third run of her current preparation and was a winner at this stage of her last preparation.

Race 1 No. 5 MARBLE ARCH- ($5.10) 

MAH ALI is worth a bit of thought in the opener. The NSW based filly didn’t measure up in a BenchMark 84 behind Another Will last weekend but was close in this grade prior to that at Canterbury over the 1500m when resuming. She was unlucky in that race when held up. The daughter of More Than Ready comes into this third up and draws to save ground from the inside barrier.
