BEST BET 🏆 

Race 4 No. 5 LADY JONES- ($1.95)

LADY JONES can break through in Race 4. The filly has attracted a heap of support in the early betting and bumped into the impressive River Plate at Sandown on November 16, filling the exacta behind that galloper. She was luckless at Listed level prior to that at Flemington. The daughter of Toronado is the only horse in the field to go faster than standard benchmark and she has done that at her last three runs. Barring any bad luck, this looks to be the one for her.

Race 2 No. 5 FIRE GLO TOO- ($2.60)

FIRE GLO TOO can get the job done in Race 2. The Ben & JD Hayes-trained galloper has had three runs this time in and showed improvement second up when an unlucky runner-up over the 1600m behind Cetshwayo before heading to Sandown and running 3rd over the 2100m behind Jayrod Too. The former Hong Kong galloper struck twice at the distance range last year and should have the fitness in the tank at her fourth run back from a long spell.

Race 3 No. 5 PRIVATE JUMBO- ($4.40)

Nice debut by PRIVATE JUMBO here on November 18 and the Mick Huglin-trained galloper can go one spot better this time around. At his first start the son of Reward For Effort sped out to lead and went down fighting late in the piece behind Holly Lolly with those two putting a gap on the rest. He went 0.7 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is the second best figure that any runner in this race has produced. Scope for improvement at his second start and Brett Prebble will look to cross from barrier 9.

Race 1 No. 4 UNIQUELY- ($16)

UNIQUELY is the outsider of the field in the opener at the Valley but should improve off recent runs, especially if the track holds its Good rating. The five-year-old was ok when 11th, beaten four lengths in a strong form race at Flemington over the 2000m on Stakes Day before battling after a wide run at Sandown over the 2100m on November 23. Wouldn’t mind seeing her settle a little closer this time around in the smaller field and she did turn things around at this stage of her last preparation with two wins. Alana Kelly rides and claims the 1.5kg. She has won five times for the stable, providing a 54% profit on turnover for punters.
