Race 4 No. 6 SHUFFLE DANCER – ($2.15)

SHUFFLE DANCER should be hard to beat in Race 4, which sees the three-year-olds in action. The filly kicked clear to win well at Sandown by three lengths on December 14 then jumped awkwardly and was held up at the top of the Flemington straight before getting out and producing the fastest late splits when runner-up behind Wrote To Arataki over the 1400m. Belle Et Riche was runner-up in that race and has since come out and won. Look for the daughter of I Am Invincible settle a little closer in the smaller field from barrier 4 and be hard to hold out at the business end.

Race 3 No. 7 JEZOULENKO – ($7)

JEZOULENKO can chalk up a win in Race 3. The Matthew Ellerton-trained galloper has finished runner-up in two of her past three, with one of those coming over the 955m at the Valley. At her most recent start she stepped out over the 1100m at Sandown and stuck on well in a strongly run race behind Joltin Joe. The daughter of Zoustar tends to improve as she gets deep into a preparation and should enjoy a genuine tempo here.

Race 5 No. 1 ARRAN BAY – ($9.50)

I don’t mind ARRAN BAY on the short back up in Race 5 of the day at Moonee Valley. The four-year-old was no match for Beltoro last weekend at Flemington, doing all the chasing behind that horse to fill the exacta. That came over the 1600m and the race rated well with Arran Bay going seven lengths faster than standard benchmark. At his last preparation, he scored at an identical stage at Flemington over the 1600m on the one-week back up, improving seven lengths on figures to defeat Cardinal Gem in the Silver Bowl Series Final (1600m). He is racing like the 2040m should suit and gets the 2kg claim for Madison Lloyd. She strikes at 23% for the stable.
