Race 3 No. 3 INUNDATION.– ($2.20)

Looking forward to the return of INUNDATION in Race 3. The promising galloper from the Price/Kent Jnr yard has had five starts for three wins and worked through the grades last time to score by three lengths ahead of Squid Game at Caulfield over the 1000m. He then battled as a $1.50 favourite at the end of his campaign over the 1100m at that venue. However, the son of Headwater should be ready to go after the break and early market support is a positive, while Jamie Kai rides.

Race 2 No. 4 FORBIDDEN CITY- ($2.60)

FORBIDDEN CITY should be hard to beat in Race 2 of the day at Moonee Valley. The four-year-old looks to have come back in good order and rattled home first up at Moe when just missing out over the 1217m before heading to Sandown and taking out a BenchMark 64 ahead of Suparazi, while there was a solid gap back to 3rd. Suparazi has won either side of that race. Forbidden City went 3.6 lengths faster than standard benchmark last time, which is the best last start figure of any runner. Scope for improvement at her third run back, while the Moody stable has been on fire of late.

Race 4 No. 7 CAPITAL THEATRE- ($9.50)

CAPITAL THEATRE might be worth a play in Race 4 of the day at the Valley. The Team Hawkes-trained galloper comes down from Sydney and was an impressive winner at Newcastle two starts ago before heading to Canterbury and running 3rd in a BenchMark 72 behind Xpresso. That came over the 1100m and he settled back in the field of seven, producing the fastest last 200m to go 7.9 lengths faster than standard benchmark. That is a better figure than what any horse in this race has produced. Barrier 11 at the Valley over the 1000m is a sticking point but they might go pretty hard up front here and that will suit him to have one last crack.
