BEST BET 🏆

Race 8 No. 3  VIVIANE- ($2.35)

Best Bet comes up in Race 8 and it is VIVIANE that should be hard to beat. The Matthew Ellerton-trained mare was a strong winner when resuming at Sale in a BenchMark 64 before heading to Sandown on September 14 and being run down late by Neverstandingstill. She was wide that day and brave, while she had a big gap on the rest. The daughter of Written Tycoon went six lengths faster than standard benchmark last time, which are the best last start figures of any runner. Third up at her last preparation she improved 5.5 lengths on figures to score at Sandown. A winner of three of five over the 1000m, look for her to be close up in the run from barrier 4 and be strong late.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 1 No. 8 FOXY CLEOPATRA- ($2.80)

The Busuttin & Young stable have a strong hand in the opener with Starianne and FOXY CLEOPATRA and I am going with the latter after she produced an impressive performance on debut at Sandown over the 1300m on September 14. On that occasion, the filly settled worse than midfield before taking a bit of time to wind up in the straight, eventually running on for 3rd behind Tajneed. She went just two lengths slower than standard, which is better than what any horse in this race has produced. Step up to the 1600m looks right up her alley and she just needs to find a spot early on from the barrier.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 2 No. 5 SAVANNAH CLOUD- ($4)

SAVANNAH CLOUD should be hard to beat in Race 2 at The Valley. The Phillip Stokes-trained galloper resumed at Geelong on September 4 and was posted three wide and without cover on the speed before sticking on well to finish runner-up behind I Am War. A couple of those that finished behind her have since gone on to win. Second up at her last preparation, the daughter of Savabeel was a 10 length improver on benchmark figures when scoring over the Moonee Valley 1200m and she has finished runner-up at her two other runs at the track and trip. From barrier 1, look for her to either lead or box seat on the rail, which seems to be the place to be at the moment at Moonee Valley.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 9 No. 11 OUTBACK ACTION- ($2.15)

Keen to see how OUTBACK ACTION fares in Race 9. The exciting prospect from the Peter Moody yard has had three starts and claimed his Maiden by six lengths at Mornington back in April before heading to Flemington and sticking on well for 3rd behind Star Patrol over the 1100m at his next start. He went 9.4 lengths faster than standard that day and resumes from that race. Early market support suggests that he should be ready and he is another that draws to be prominent from barrier 4.
