Race 6 No. 3 KAIDO – ($1.80)
KAIDO can go one spot better than a last start effort that saw him finish runner-up at the track and trip behind Shove Over. The Clinton McDonald-trained galloper settled in the lead in the January 28 affair before being run down late. The winner out of that has since claimed a BenchMark 70 at Flemington ahead of Suparazi and British Columbia. Kaido should be nearing his peak at his third run back and has drawn perfectly in barrier 4 with Beau Mertens to ride.

Race 4 No. 8 VANKUKLA – ($3.20)
A few unknowns with some first starters in action here but I am wiling to roll the dice on VANKUKLA. The Busuttin & Young galloper has placed in four of seven and settled handy at the track and rip on January 8 before being pipped late by So Greysful. Those two gapped the rest and he went 3.8 lengths slower than standard, which is a better figure than what any of the raced runners have produced. He draws barrier 5 and should be in it for a long way.
