Morphettville Parks Tips 03/02/2024

BEST BET 🏆

Race 3 No. 6 BILLIE BRONX – ($1.95)

We highlighted the winner BILLIE BRONX as a video watch horse in the race won by Dawnburst at Murray Bridge. San Lucidio went into the #SABlackbookers file following that race with Billie Bronx going to the line without having a run. San Lucidio came out and scored in fast time at Gawler before Billie Bronx sat on top of the pace to race away with it into the straight. There’s good race strength surrounding both of Billie Bronx’s latest two runs, and she has the quality to go further through her grades. Time for her to step-up and put a few wins together.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7 No. 4 SAN LUCIDO – ($4.60)

SAN LUCIDO comes out of the 1400m benchmark 62 at Murray Bridge where three out of five of the recent winners came from maiden grade. This left it open for experienced campaigners such as Dawnburst and Mavette to dominate. Those two horses ran first and third respectively with San Lucido splitting the pair into second. He travelled kindly for Dom Tourneur in a midfield position before becoming held-up into the straight. Dom had to cross the heels of the winner who put three lengths on him by the furlong. San Lucido finished strongly to be in front of Dawnburst shortly after the line. He is the horse who can continue to progress with some upside and may be worth following out over further. Billie Bronx was the other horse coming in with some upside, and hers was just a complete forgive and forget run. Both horses have since come out and won at Gawler and we’ll continue to follow.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6 No. 6 JENKINS – ($13)

We’ve enjoyed great success here at Racingbase SA in following JENKINS early into his preps. He’s a horse who sprints very well fresh while carrying weights and really seems to enjoy racing on the Parks track. He was beaten a whisker in a four-way go first-up over 1250 metres here at a big price back in March last year. Gary Lo had to chop and change course as he made a run from the back in a slowly run race. We landed Jenkins at a good price when Phillip Stokes sent him around over this track and trip second-up in his following prep. The market still let us on third-up when Jenkins blew to a double-figure winner over the mile. Given just a quiet trial leading into resumption at Morphettville Parks Racecourse on Saturday. Market have again left him alone, and we’re more than happy to be on Jenkins as our value bet of the day.
