Morphettville Tips 12/11/2022
BEST BET 🏆
Race 2 No. 2 BOOLCUNDA KING – ($2.40)
Things are heating up again for the Peter & Belinda Blanch stable with BOOLCUNDA KING heading in the right direction. Ran first-up on the inside leaderish dominated Balaklava racetrack on Cup Day. Barend Vorster would have got a feel for the horse on that day and stuck second-up at Morphettville. Found some trouble from an inside gate as the pace dropped out of the 1531 metre affair. Boolcunda King was left as they sprinted before Vorster asked his mount to slide around them, catching the eye late. We black booked him then and there, reaping the rewards from his past two starts. We’ll back him in again as he chases the hattrick since writing his name into the #SABlackbookers.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7 No. 1 STRUCK BY – ($4.80)
We felt that STRUCK BY was just about a good thing when going around as a $10 pop first-up. He did make short work of that wide barrier as we mused when lumping 60 kilos to demolish most of these. He led all the way under Jason Benbow that day before trainer Travis Doudle gave him a break between runs. Ran an enormous race in the greys race over 1400 metres at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day. Struck By had been prominent throughout before being claimed by Love Tap and Kooled. We love horses back in trip when early into their prep and Struck By will be strong through the line on Saturday.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 5 No. 4 THE MAGISTRATE – ($11)
Teegan Voorham had THE MAGISTRATE out well and racing at a good pace in what looked like a strong race to class. This field didn’t disappoint, racing lickety-split throughout with The Magistrate still over racing through the early stages. Voorham attempted to hold a clear line on straightening with the larger Viduka engaging in a bumping duel to hold her horse in. She allowed The Magistrate to re-balance before persisting with that run. The Magistrate responded by kicking off the good speed to burst through that gap. Rich Gina and The Gov had momentum to claim him late and we blackbooked The Magistrate to score last week. Meets those two again as Voorham can rate him to be strong throughout off the seven-day back-up
