BEST BET 🏆
Race 1 No. 2 KUSU – ($3.20)
Last season’s premiership stable Richard and Chantelle Jolly are already continuing on their winning ways into the racing year.. Their 2yo KUSU had been largely overlooked by punters first-up on the Parks circuit and he looks as though he’ll enjoy the bigger tracks. Jumped away evenly with them before becoming inconvenienced by the winner after about a furlong. Loved the way he got into the bridle with an attitude of wanting to race. While the winner had kicked, Kusu had been doing his best work late once clear.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 8 No. 11 TURFITT – ($7)
Morphettville trainers Gordon Richards & Damien Moyle have been building towards another win with TURFITT. He was okay first-up in a good form race over 1200 metres at Balaklava. Tracked wide the speed since while facing the breeze the entire over 1300 metres on the Parks track. He was entitled to weaken late as he did, though wasn’t beaten far to Maid In Milan. Should be ready to peak at his fourth run back and out to the mile. Settled nicely midfield last time before getting to the line with Angelic Scent as the pair chased Melody Man. This would appear to be the right formline for a race of this caliber, plus Turfitt is also a proven performer in the Heavy conditions.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 9 No. 9 SAVILLE – ($11)
Strathalbyn trainer Greg Lesnikowski returned to the races with potential stable star SAVILLE at Balaklava. It had been a long time between runs since the big Valentia gelding debuted over there in May last year. He attracted support that day off the back of an impressive winning trial over the likes of Miss Langtry. Jumped away a little slowly on resumption before Ryan Hurdle hunted the rail with him. They hit the front early into the straight before proving too strong late. Saville is quite a big horse who had been presented to the races as one who would benefit from the run. Lesnikowski has since joined forces with Ryan Hannemann with the new duo building a good crew of horses to hit the ground running with.
