Morphettville Tips 15/10/2022

BEST BET 🏆

Race 3 No. 12 IMBIBE – ($4.80)

Fair to say the Alexander Brothers have a fair opinion of IMBIBE who was racing first-up in a maiden on the Parks track. She had debuted in Listed Level earlier this year following a convincing win at the trials. Punters agreed with the form and sent the early season filly around as the popular elect. Barend Vorster did a terrific job to find some cover on the speed when coming out of the chute. Just had one come off her back late in a race-fit Commander Meroo to nail her on the line.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 9 No. 12 MY KHALIFA – ($6.50)

Lachy Neindorf can score on the consistent Gordon Richards & Damien Moyle stable horse MY KHALIFA to send us home a winner. She had been given a let-up following a string of placings in good company during a campaign which produced a win over 1400 metres at Murray Bridge. Settled back of midfield here in a strong BM72 before Neindorf worked her into the clear on straightening. The pair flew home to just miss Picargo over the 1250 metres in what we believe will become a strong form race. Strikes a bigger field here and we don’t mind her being drawn out a touch as she’s only a slight mare. Boasts a classy turn of foot will make her presence felt late in the last.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7 No. 4 DIAMONDS – ($20)

Callan Murray gets on a good one in DIAMONDS who was clearly feeling her oats in a recent trial at home. Murray had a firm grip as the mare attempted to pull his arms out before Murray let her slide upon entering the straight. He still maintained a level of restraint as Diamonds moved to challenge the tough Calla Dream who was responding under to encouragement. Trainer Chris Bieg wouldn’t have wanted her to do too much work in the hit out, preferring her fresh for this. She ran a huge race over this track and trip finishing strongly behind Gase Gris when resuming last time in. That run started a campaign which culminated in victory up the Flemington straight, and Diamonds will enjoy the pressure here.
