Morphettville Parks Tips 16/03/2024

BEST BET 🏆

Race 4 No. 5 STOKOMO – ($3.90)

Jake Toeroek gave STOKOMO the run of the race from just off the speed in a strong race at Morphettville last start. The others had all rolled off the fence into the straight which gave Jake a clear run through. Stokomo finished strongly to just miss the winner Vexatious Dancer who had led throughout to score. They ran time in that race with a field of horses who show promise of ability. This followed a win on debut where Stokomo stalked the speed at Balaklava before proving too strong in maiden grade. Stokomo stepped it up a notch last start while the extra trip looks suitable on Saturday.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6 No. 7 QEYAADY – ($5.50)

Michael Hickmott has the senior rider going back onto QEYAADY with Jessica Eaton taking the ride from an ideal gate. Rochelle Milnes has ridden the horse for his past couple and just missed out last time. Milnes stalked the speed near the fence before becoming momentarily held-up on straightening. She needed one to take her further into the straight as the winner went around her. Qeyaady balanced up when clear to run strongly through the line for second in a photo. They ran fast times throughout, including a fast last 600m with this race looking a similar set-up on paper.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 1 No. 4 THE PHARMACIST – ($19)

Trainer David Jolly will be hoping for a touch of luck for Kayla Crowther who has drawn awkwardly aboard THE PHARMACIST on Saturday. The horse was a little slow into stride when racing in Murray Bridge on debut last prep. Crowther continued to work on The Pharmacist as they got away up front. The winner Aiyah and Sioux Warrior both ran sharp time for the 900m that day in what was a reasonable maiden. Jolly tipped The Pharmacist out and has given his colt a few jump outs in readiness for return. Did win at his most recent public appearance and may end-up in a good spot in running if he can get away okay.
