BEST BET 🏆
Race 5 No. 5 MY KHALIFA – ($4.40)
Todd Pannell is back from a let-up of nearly three weeks with Gordon Richards & Damien Moyle snapping him up for the ride on MY KHALIFA. We mentioned there was a sense of timing surrounding My Khalifa when we backed him to score following a break. The same could be said for the John Letts Medalist as he helps My Khalifa shoot for three straight wins. Madison Lloyd gave the horse a treat last time out, guiding My khalifa into the clear before letting down with one run into the straight. Her mount was inclined to lay in over the last furlong or so, and will be better suited by the southpaw senior riding on Saturday.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4 No. 2 METRO LEGEND – ($3.20)
The Aaron Bain Racing juggernaut rolls on as METRO LEGEND puts two solid runs together early into the prep. Stalked the speed in a race controlled by #SABlackbookers horse Outpost when resuming over 1200 metres at Morphettville. Kept coming to be beaten not all that day in a nice return to racing. Followed-up by having Barend Vorster spearing him across to lead from an outside alley over seven furlongs on the Parks track. Metro Legend had a race-fit and in-form Neodium breathing down his neck the entire. The big grey picked him up inside the 50m only to be claimed by another #SABlackbookers horse in My Khalifa. We rate the form around Metro Legend and believe he’s not far off a win.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 9 No. 1 CENTREFIELD – ($14)
The Searle family have received CENTREFIELD to race for Port Lincoln trainer Rocky King and she’ll strip fitter for her first-up run. Centrefield went around in what looked like a thin BM86 on paper while being a race stacked with speed. She led clearly as Rushaway Lad and Hidden Legend tried to keep up. The mare dropped those two into the straight as the two genuine six-furlong horses in I Am Bene and Manhatten Times rushed past late. They finished about 2L faster overall than the BM68 later in the day. Those horses also came home around 2.5L quicker in the last 600m which is an indication of the frantic pace of this race.
