Race 2 No. 3 OH MO – ($5)

Murray Bridge trainer Sam Burford can collect some reward for consistency on Saturday as OH MO strikes a winnable race. Burford has sent his stable champ around on a traditional South Australian Spring path this prep. Got back in the slowly run Leon Macdonald Stakes at WFA to be amongst the blanket finish behind Dalasan. Followed with a closing effort from the back to run third in the Balaklava Cup. Burford gave Oh Mo the full four-weeks before again being one of the closers in the Murray Bridge Cup. Held-up at latest with Kayla Crowther darting back to the fence as Hopon Harry opened an unassailable break. Oh Mo closed off quickly and he now comes in off a slightly longer gap than most of his rivals.

Race 8 No. 12 KEEP READING – ($4.60)

Richard and Chantelle Jolly can cap off a memorable few months with a win with KEEP READING in the City Of Marion Stakes. Jake Toeroek finds his task made just that bit easier following an ideal barrier draw with plenty of speed drawn around him. Keep Reading raced keenly last time out before dispatching of a Listed quality field over this track and trip. Toeroek let him slide up to the two leaders shortly after straightening before going to work by the furlong. His main task from there was to keep his mount racing straight plus keeping his mind on the job. Can improve with a smother behind the pace and perhaps getting to them a little later again.

Race 9 No. 8 OUTPOST – ($8.50)

#SABlackbookers horse OUTPOST was finally able to come back to his own grade two starts ago when he ultimately proved too good. That was run here over 1200 metres with Jason Holder taking him to the front at a good gallop. Outpost kept going strongly to the line holding out a handy lot before being perhaps a shade disappointing last start. Holder adopted similar tactics in that $100k Series Final when he led Struck By and Keep Reading early. There’s plenty of pressure engaged here to help Holder find some early cover before presenting into the straight.
