BEST BET 🏆
Race 4 No. 3 BOOLCUNDA KING – ($3.30)
Things are heating up again for the Peter & Belinda Blanch stable with BOOLCUNDA KING heading in the right direction. Ran first-up on the inside leaderish dominated Balaklava race track on Cup Day. Barend Vorster would have got a feel for the horse on that day and stuck second-up at Morphettville. Found some trouble from an inside gate as the pace dropped out of the 1531 metre affair. Boolcunda King was left as they sprinted before Vorster asked his mount to slide around them, catching the eye late. We black booked him then and there, reaping the rewards from a last-to-first winning performance last time out.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 9 No. 12 MY KHALIFA – ($6.50)
Lachie Neindorf came out in a neutral manner on MY KHALIFA who picked up a well-deserved city win on the Parks track. Speed came in the form of Barend Vorster on a Danny O’Brien horse who put some pressure on out wide. They put the brakes on shortly after which created a domino effect back through the field. This left Lachie and My Khalifa with a bit of work to do in the last. The pair were trucking a fair way from home and were needing an out as they entered the straight. Neindorf found the way through with My Khalifa balancing up inside the furlong to put her rivals away. \Madison Lloyd answers the call in the absence of Neindorf and we’ll stick with the My Khalifa to go back-to-back.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 8 No. 10 THE MAGISTRATE – ($10)
Teegan Voorham had THE MAGISTRATE out well and racing at a good pace in what looked like a strong race to class. This field didn’t disappoint, racing lickety-split throughout with The Magistrate still over racing through the early stages. Voorham attempted to hold a clear line on straightening with the larger Viduka engaging in a bumping duel to hold her horse in. She allowed The Magistrate to re-balance before persisting with that run. The Magistrate responded by kicking off the good speed to burst through that gap. He was claimed by a couple of handy gallopers who finished late with momentum.
