Race 6 No. 1 CLEVER MAN – ($4.20)
Local trainer Trevor White brings CLEVER MAN back to his home track where he has won three from three over the trip here. Clever Man is fit and hard now coming back from two placings over 2500 metres in town. Jacob Opperman gave him a nice run off the speed before Clever Man found Darlamax and Sous Les Nuages too good. Opperman then let him slide closer over the same trip at Murray Bridge at his latest run. He found a response when switching the whip through to the left with Clever Man fighting strongly to the line. Eventually beaten by Oath Of Omerta and Ben Price reclaims the mount for the first time since winning the Millicent Cup.

Race 5 No. 6 CARAK – ($10)
The money poured for CARAK from early in the morning when racing here three starts ago. Kayla Crowther took him straight to the front as soon as the gates opened with the pair fighting hard to deny Harbourmaster late. Carak then rolled forward again at Bordertown where something clearly went wrong for him to hoist the flag early into the straight. The money was against him here last time as the punters gravitated towards Hamslette leading up to race time. They collected their coin again as Hamslette romped away, leaving little between the rest of them. Eran Boyd goes on now and will likely afford the track specialist a positive run again off the inside draw.

Race 4 No. 8 OAMARU POPPY – ($23)
The big price about noted speedster OAMARU POPPY is far too hard to ignore for a value bet tomorrow. She’s a two-time winner here, including when racing first-up over 1200 metres earlier this month. Dylan Caboche was hard at work on the mare to take up the running off their outside draw. Oamaru Poppy left the others in her wake once she found her rhythm to lead comfortably. The pair were never headed in a dominant display of speed. She can be a little slow once she hits the ground which may be of concern back in trip off the inside. Caboche will be on his toes early and Oamaru Poppy will be in this for a long way should she get into stride early enough.
