Race 4 No. 4 THE BIG CHUNK – ($7)

There does not appear to be a lot of known pressure to help  suit THE BIG CHUNK at Murray Bridge Racecourse on Wednesday. He debuted over 900 metres at home for local trainer Jordan Frew on New Year’s Day. The Big Chunk found them all a bit too slick through the early stages before working into it late under Ben Price. Regular stable rider Sam Payne took the ride last start as Frew sent The Big Chunk out to Strathalbyn. The pair found themselves coming back from an outside alley as the field ran along. The Big Chunk made plenty of ground between horses to run second and will be suited here at Gifford Hill. Not thrilled with drawing a low-percentage inside gate at Gifford Hill. Payne may be able to offset any disadvantage by coming out neutral, and hopefully the speed won’t be on tomorrow.

Race 6 No. 6 PRANCE ’N’ DANCE ($5)

We are confident that PRANCE ’N’ DANCE is the best horse in her race at Murray Bridge Racecourse on Wednesday. Not certain that’s enough to get her over the line in a thin 1000 metre race while having to lump some weight. We’d prefer to see a claim with plenty available; however trainer John Croucher has opted for the class of Todd Pannell to get his mare home. Prance ‘N’ Dance carried half a kilo over the minimum when settling handy to a fast speed at Morphettville when resuming. She knocked up late to be beaten less than five lengths off the horses who fought out a three-way go. Speed on paper suggests that Pannell can get her into a three-wide trailing line with cover tomorrow. These are a bit limited and Prance ‘N’ Dance deserves to go in as a bet suggestion at the price.

Race 2 No. 1 ARTISTIC GAL ($13)

Sairyn Fawke gave ARTISTIC GAL a positive ride to settle behind the leading pair after his mount jumped away smartly when resuming. The pace was over 1350 metres at Strathalbyn and Artistic Gal acquitted herself to run a clear second with the winner Global Turn being a class above. Justin Pickering chose to claim with Maggie Collett when stepping his mare up to a mile here second-up on Australia Day. The pace was on again with Artistic Gal again settling just behind the leaders. She was under pressure prior to turning though did manage to whack away okay back on the inside section. Possibly not suited by a fast-run mile on a soft track second-up. Gets back on top of the ground on Wednesday while coming back to the seven-furlongs.
