Murray Bridge Tips 14/01/2023

BEST BET 🏆

Race 6 No. 4 NOSTRYIA – ($4)

Morphettville Trainer Ken Sweeney has NOSTRYIA resuming at Murray Bridge without an official trial or jump out to go on. We can bet that he’ll have his potential stable star ready to roll as he won’t be taking many chances with this horse. Put in a sensational trial prior to debut last prep when he tracked wide to score under his own steam. Todd Pannell attempted to restrain the horse back in the field on race day with Nostryia pulling hard for more rein. Pannell slipped his horse the leather with Nostryia quickly going to and dispatching of odds-on pop Sghirripa. Sweeney tipped Nostryia out following the run while Sghirripa went onto score at her next start by 6.5L. Schirripa has also since impressed with a comfortable trial win and we are looking forward to his return too.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5 No. 7 LACRIMA – ($6.50)

Jessica Eaton took LACRIMA back from the start off their wide draw when racing second-up at Murray Bridge. That initial speed came out of the race with the tempo dropping down the side. Lacrima always had plenty to offer for Jess and had just been caught behind horses when the pace quickened again before straightening. Lacrima lengthened well once clear inside the furlong giving trainer Michael Hickmott plenty to look forward to with this prep. Since finished best to score at Morphettville and Ben Price gets her in below the minimum as lacrima steps sharply in grade.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 2 No. 1 HALLOWED GROUND – ($7.50)

Ballarat synthetic superstar HALLOWED GROUND joins the David Jolly camp to race here in South Australia. Typically shows terrific gate speed to burst to an early lead before kicking off that turn there at Ballarat. He finds a firm Murray Bridge surface to help him make that transition to turf. Hallowed Ground was ultra-impressive in winning a recent barrier trial at Strathalbyn. He recorded the fastest time of the day while coming away from One More Jack under his own steam. Went out silly hard in front when first-up last time and we’ll forgive the run while fitter for the effort.
