BEST BET 🏆
Race 3: No.3 HARDLEY GREY ($4.60 with Unibet)
The Ballina-based HARDLEY GREY is in outstanding form of late and looks primed for the hat-trick today. Last start, the Instinction gelding went back-to-back by taking out a Class 1 Hcp over 1400m at Grafton. Jumping from the car park that day (14 of 14), he carried 58kgs to victory with Chris Taylor on board. He ran the trip out, 2.7 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best here and a new personal best as well. Taylor sticks with him today and has a strong record with the four-year-old, boasting two wins and three minor placings from his five rides to date. He gets the gun-run from gate one today and should take beating.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 5: No.3 NO LOVE LOST ($2.50 with BlueBet)
Still a maiden after seven starts, Gold Coast visitor NO LOVE LOST should find this contest a little easier today. Last start, the Your Song gelding tried (again) to lead all the way in a Maiden Plate over 1200m, but was (again) collared near the line and had to settle for third prize at the Sunshine Coast. He ran a personal best that day, covering the trip, 7.7 lengths slower than benchmark, second-best here to Mirror One (who he meets 5kgs better at the weights today). Tegan Harrison has the reins for her third ride on the four-year-old, and with a trouble-free run here, he can get the job done today.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 4: No.3 LAMPKIN LANE ($8.50 with bet365)
Grafton galloper, LAMPKIN LANE is in career-best form of late and has the runs on the board to suggest he can take this out. Last start, the Savabeel gelding came off his maiden win when he finished a close-up third in a Class 1/Maiden Plate over 1700m on his home track. He ran the fastest final 800m and 600m sectionals with Tegan Harrison in charge that day. Luke Rolls returns for today’s assignment, having ridden him in that maiden win. He steps up in distance today which looks ideal for him at this stage. There is money around for him with his overnight quote of $14 smashed into (currently) $8.50. His current form is hard to fault with four-straight podium finishes on his resume and he looks set to continue that trend here, still at good odds.
