The Matt Dunn-trained DESERT MIST is in great touch this time in and on his home track today, looks the one to beat. Last start, the Pride Of Dubai gelding came off his maiden win (when making his track debut here) when he lined-up in a BM58 contest over 1410m at Lismore. From mid-field early, he chased them all the way to the line, finishing fourth, beaten less than two lengths on the line. He his last 600m, 1 length quicker than benchmark, the best in this field. Luke Rolls is in charge today as the three-year-old draws ideally in gate two here. He is up in grade but drops in weight and already a track and distance winner, he will take beating contest.

Beaudesert galloper ROSE BY DESIGN journey’s south of the border again and third-up today looks right in the mix here. Last start, the Master Of Design mare was second-up and not disgraced when finishing sixth in a BM70 Hcp over 1100m at Ipswich. Beaten just over two lengths that day, she travelled wide all the way and ran the trip out, 2.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up by more than 2 lengths. Ideally drawn in gate three today, she maps to box-seat and will strip even fitter after those two runs back. Already a winner here, she can give this real shake at odds today.
