The Stephen Lee-trained SPIELE is in good touch this preparation and looks well placed here to bring up win number two today. Last start the Casino Prince mare finished a close-up third in a Class 1/Maiden Plate over the mile at Ballina with Les Tilley aboard. That made it five podium finishes in seven starts this preparation. From gate four today, she maps to settle just behind the pace and has Tilley sticking with her for this contest. The consistent mare should be rewarded here today.

Race 8:  No.5  DIVINE COURAGE  ($4.20 with BlueBet)

The Team Edmunds-trained DIVINE COURAGE resumes from a four-month break today and after two trials, should be ready to fire on fresh legs. Last start, the Divine Prophet gelding ended his last campaign finishing just behind the placegetters in a BM0-60 Hcp over 1350m at the Gold Coast. Drifting back soon after the start he spotted them too much ground and was unable to run them down in the end. Beaten just a length on the line, he ran a new personal best, covering the trip, less than half a length quicker than benchmark, the best in this field. Matt McGuren was aboard for his most recent trial where he finished a close-up second, here over 1010m. He has now seen the track as he makes his racing debut here today. On fresh legs, he can give this a real shake.
