BEST BET 🏆
Race 6: No.7 MEDIA MAN ($4.80 with Unibet)
Newcastle galloper MEDIA MAN loves racing here and looks well placed to add to his glowing record at the track. Last start, the Press Statement gelding made it back-to-back wins (on this track) when he stepped up to Class 2 company and beat them all to the line in the 1500m contest. He covered the last 600m, 1.8 lengths quicker than benchmark, second-best here behind Cubic Zirconia (who is making his track debut today). He also posted the fastest final 800m, 600m and 400m sectionals for the race. He is now a three-time winner over this trip and two of those have come on this track. Andrew Gibbons sticks with him today and he will beating here.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7: No.3 WARRAH FLASH ($3.40 with Palmerbet)
The Cody Morgan-trained WARRAH FLASH returns from a city hit-out here and looks more at home among this opposition today. Last start, the six-year-old gelding took on Class 3 company in a Hwy Hcp over 1300m at Rosehill. Drawing the outside gate (12), she settled last in the field and wasn’t able to make up the ground in the run home, finishing down the track. This is a sharp drop in class as he returns to the country scene. Much better drawn here, He maps to settle better than mid-field and with a clear run to the line, he looks a genuine winning chance today.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 4: No.4 MOVIN’ DENMAN ($7.50 with Palmerbet)
Scone-based galloper MOVIN’ DENMAN is third-up today and looks ready to strike. Last start, the Denman gelding was second-up and still looked in need of another run when he finished in a Class 1 Hcp, here over the 1000m sprint. He drew wide that day and did a lot of work early to cross and find a spot close to the speed. He never gave up the ghost but still missed a podium finish, running fifth in the field of 14. Fitter for two runs back now, he should be nearing peak fitness and with Jean Van Overmeire on board for the first time, he will have every opportunity to bring up his second career win here at odds.
