BEST BET 🏆

Race 5:  No.8  ROTHROCK

The Paul Perry-trained ROTHROCK comes off a city failure but dropping in grade here, looks a big chance to bounce back today. Last start, the Scissor Kick mare had her second look at a city-class challenge and for the second time, finished last in the event. Perry brings her back to the country scene today where she is a track and distance winner here and has booked Mitchell Bell for his first ride on the mare. She draws nicely here in gate three and maps to be parked right behind the speed. At her peak after three runs this time in, she can bounce back today and take home the chocolates here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4:  No.8  TOO MANY STARS

Brett Cavanough saddles-up TOO MANY STARS here who is three starts into this campaign and looking good. Last start, the All Too Hard filly came off her maiden win (on a Heavy 10) at Inverell when she finished unplaced in her first crack at Class 1 company over the mile trip at Gunnedah. She drew the outside gate (10) as well that day and the extra distance seemed to take its toll on her in the end. She drops back in trip today and fares much better at the barrier, drawing gate four here. The stable have removed the blinkers for the first time today as Braith Nock remains on board for this assignment. Expect a bold improvement here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 3:  No.6  TAKEN FOR GRANTED

Local galloper, TAKEN FOR GRANTED is yet to taste victory after three starts on her home track but now that she has found her mojo, that can all change today. Last start, the Supido mare broke through for her maiden win and did it in style as she crossed the line 1.5 lengths clear of the 12-strong field. She drew wide that day and settled mid-field on the fence and on the turn, came off heels and stormed home to take the honours. Darryl Mc Lellan steered her home that day and remains the pilot for this assignment. She has the outside gate today but has already proven she can overcome that situation. In great touch this time in, she can go back-to-back here.
