Muswellbrook Tips 28/04/2023
BEST BET 🏆
Race 7 No. 4 LE MELODY – ($2.05)
The feature sprint has LE MELODY racing first-up since her Kosciuszko attempt in October last year. Her entry into that race came off the back off three career wins over this trip in sharp time. Cody Morgan had chosen to kick her career off over this track and trip back and the punters did not miss. Despite not being the sharpest out of the gates, Le Melody mustered through to lead and never looked back. Le Melody’s three wins have all come in sharp time and while starting in the red, showing a strong SP profile. Le Melody cruised to an easy trial win and Scone in readiness for return. Christian Reith takes the ride, and the pair hold a massive weight advantage over Tucson Valley who we deem to be her main challenger.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 2 No. 5 WHAT A PEACH – ($5)
Christian Reith can gain the run of the race on WHAT A PEACH who is nearing a win. The mare tracked from round midfield before making a midrace move to sit up outside the speed here recently. They hadn’t gone hard which suited Rhythm Is A Dancer who sat under the leader to go on and score. What A Peach made her earn it up the straight with the inside horse just pulling out enough on the line. What A Peach will be fitter again for another run since over the 1400m at Scone before she ran third to a dominant Osman. There could be some pressure up on the speed in this with the cutaway coming into play as they straighten.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 8 No. 12 ELEGANT POETESS – ($6)
The racing pattern of ELEGANT POETESS has no doubt hindered her chances of success. This is not the strongest race to finish the card and she gets her chance to get over the top of them here. Settled back as per usual over this track and distance last start before becoming engaged in a bumping duel near the top of the straight. Elegant Poetess was seen doing her best work late without troubling the winner Just Like Lisa. Reece Jones generally enjoys success at Muswellbrook Racecourse and his is a welcome inclusion into the saddle.
