Naracoorte Tips 18/11/2022

BEST BET 🏆

Race 5 No. 3 HI SMOKEY – ($4.20)

We thought we had HI SMOKEY done cold as we prepared to celebrate a win on the punt with Rholon Drunk here last start. Hi Smokey led as expected with Rholon Drunk doing the chasing first-up. He raced up to head Hi Smokey down by the 100 metres before his rider dropped her whip. Whether that made the difference or not, we can’t take anything away from Hi Smokey and his rider Sairyn Fawke to fight back and get the bob in on the line. Rholon Drunk has since proven the form with a narrow defeat in town, as Hi Smokey attempts to keep his undefeated record alive here at Naracoorte.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7 No. 1 PEWTER – ($7.50)

The red-hot form of Teagan Voorham can continue as she guides PEWTER around Naracoorte on Friday. Teagan has been reaping the rewards of late for a long run of riding consistently well. She will need to take it to the next level with Pewter however, as the good gate could become sticky without a lot of speed in front of her. She let Pewter come back from the start last time before moving around them early due to the lack of pace. The leaders were able to kick back and deny Pewter in that Benchmark 68 event. Sue Murphy has finally found a race down in grade for her charge, and Voorham may have to back herself from the barrier. With any luck she can find a position one-off while travelling in a good comfort zone while keeping her momentum going as she works into the clear on Pewter.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6 No. 6 EXALTED QUEEN – ($7.50)

Jemma Frew has picked up the training duties of speed machine EXALTED QUEEN who had been scratched from a recent meeting at Murray Bridge. Naracoorte may prove more to her liking as it often does to those who like to race up on the speed. Exalted Queen is starting to push on to close to two years since her last run. That was another on-speed effort when being over-run late by Rizski and Sir Johnson at Oakbank. Displayed all her usual qualities in a recent jump out where she pinged the gates to land well clear of the others. Blew some rust out with a win and Frew finds her a race on Friday where the pressure shouldn’t be all that hot early.
