Naracoorte Tips 25/09/2022

BEST BET 🏆

Race 8 No. 1 ENZED BEER ($4.80)

We’ll wait for the get-out to find our best as Maggie Collett can give ENZED BEER a perfect run in transit. Kristi Evans really has her tough gelding up and about this prep with Enzed Beer already landing a couple of wins. Toughed it out at latest over this trip in a benchmark 54 at Mount Gambier, responding to the riding of Lachlan Overall. He seems to love getting his feet into the ground and we believe Maggie will roll forward on him early. Track should be well and truly chopped up by this stage which will take the sting out of those doing the chasing. Restricted 58 grade appears to be the logical next step, and Enzed Beer can go on with it here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6 No. 3 KEYSOR – ($4.10)

Kristi Evans brings the old firm back together as Stacey Metcalfe gets the nod to climb aboard Keysor. He shows a handy record in deep-track conditions and will get the chance to roll a little more forward over this trip. We were on last start when it didn’t pan out for the little warrior as he settled with cover and copped plenty of kick-back. Sill looked to be bolting in behind them before Lachlan Overall found his way clear by the dogleg at Mount Gambier. Combination of copping the mud, plus being deeper into his prep perhaps saw not let down as anticipated. Still ground to the line well-enough with the mile and a quarter now looking ideal.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7 No. 5 Pewter- ($12)

Can’t have ’em go around at Naracoorte on a bog track without backing PEWTER over the 1400m. He’s been a marvel the old boy, winning over a range of distances and on firm to heavy surfaces while carrying weight, Local horsewoman Sue Murphy acquires the services of young-gun Jacob Opperman who rides this track well and has had success on this horse in the past. He’ll let Pewter find his feet before making one run at them, and Pewter is one horse capable of storming home from the back for a win.
