Naracoorte Tips 30/10/2022

BEST BET 🏆

Race 1 No. 1 ROHLON DRUNK – ($4.60)

Jamie Opperman books in form apprentice Britney Wong, taking her three kilo claim off the top weight of ROHLON DRUNK. The horse box-seated the speed when resuming last time in under Jacob Opperman. That pair rolled off the fence to move outside the leader and score convincingly over 1100 metres. He only raced a handful of times last prep, with that win being a highlight, as was his placing behind Outlaw’s Revenge in town. Resumes in a smaller field on another soft track which is to his liking. Bitney can have Rohlon Drunk in a forward position to stalk the leader before striking into the straight once again.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6 No. 8 TRIANGULUM – ($11)

We thought we were home with Keysor when Ellis Wong brought TRIANGULUM with a stirring run over this track and distance. That rounded them up from the back to go on and score against the flow of on-pace winners that day. Trainer Brett Campbell sends Triangulum around tomorrow in similar conditions to that he faced here that day. This race has a bit more depth to it despite being listed as only a benchmark 60 event. Those up the top of handicaps will have a bit more weight to shoulder while Triangulum stays relatively low on the scale. Campbell books Ben Price following his successful day at headquarters on Saturday.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5 No. 6 VICTORY BANDIT – ($10)

Sue & Jason Jaensch stable apprentice Maggie Collet sticks with VICTORY BANDIT. This is despite guiding stablemate and top weight Gigglon to a recent victory. Stable have opted instead to use the non-claiming apprentice Alice Lindsay on their track specialist. Maggie allowed Victory Bandit to roll forward when resuming recently on the firm surface at Balaklava. Her mare ran well and will have stripped fitter after peaking late in the run. Victory Bandit also enjoys the sting out of the ground which she gets here. The pair should control this race which has little pace involved as Victory Bandit stays to the seven furlongs.
