Race 4:  No.2  HURN COURT  ($2.20 with Palmerbet)

Dubbo visitor HURN COURT is four starts into this campaign and the rise in distance here looks ideal for him today. Last start, the Outreach gelding made up good ground when he came from mid-field to grab fourth prize in a Class 3 over 1000m at Warren. He has been finishing off well of late and the 1400m should suit him now. He gets the gun-run from gate one today and has Grant Buckley back on board, having steered him to four podium finishes from his six previous rides on the five-year-old. He has enough boxes ticked here to warrant plenty of respect for his Narromine debut.

Race 5:  No.5  PRALINE  ($4 with bet365)

The Dubbo-based PRALINE is second-up today and her resume suggests she will take some beating here. Last start, the Holy Roman Emperor mare was fresh off a lengthy six-month absence when she wasn’t disgraced finishing third in a BM66 Hcp over 1000m on her home track. While no benchmarking stats are available for that run, she did record the fastest final 800m sectional for the race. Adrian Layt sticks with her today and she is already a track and distance winner. She boasts a solid second-up record, winning two of her four previous second-up appearances. Drawn well in gate four, a trouble-free run here should see her fighting out the finish today.

Race 6:  No.9  SCARLEO  ($8 with Ladbrokes)

Local galloper SCARLEO has won two of his past three (both on wet tracks) and on a forecast Heavy 8 today, looks right in this contest. Last start, the Helmet gelding destroyed his rivals in a BM50 over the mile at Dubbo. On a Heavy 10 that day, he lumped 60.5kgs to victory, putting more than four lengths on them over the line. He faces similar company here over the same journey and bringing that form here, he looks the one to beat again today at each-way odds.
