Race 6:  No.2  MONTE KATE

Kembla Grange visitor, MONTE KATE sees the track for the first time but boasting a strong resume to date, looks right in the mix for a second victory in this contest. Last start, the I Am Invincible filly made it four-straight podium finishes when she collected third prize in a BM72 over 1300m at Warwick Farm with Tommy Berry in the saddle. Dropping sharply in grade here today, she has more weight to carry but draws nicely in gate three with Tommy Berry steering the ship again. At her peak after four starts this time in, she looks to play a serious hand in the outcome here.

Race 3:  No.3  RATTLE AND HUM

The Michael Freedman-trained RATTLE AND HUM is second-up today and looks poised for a bold sight in this company. Last start, the British-sired gelding had his first look at an Australian track when he finished mid-field over the mile at Kembla Grange with Zac Waddick aboard. That was first-up after six months off the scene where he carried 62kgs and was beaten less then three lengths on the line. Waddick sticks with him here where the extra ground should suit the four-year-old. Already a winner when second-up, he should go very close to taking home first prize in this contest.

Race 5:  No.5  PROCRASTINATOR 

The Gosford-based PROCRASTINATOR has built a reputation on this track and with a major gear change today, looks thew one to beat in this contest. Last start, the Eurozone gelding was a little disappointing when finishing third in a BM68, here over the 900m sprint. Sent out a $2.80 elect, he led from the outset but was collared inside the final 100m and crossed the line just over a length behind the first two past the post. He drops back in grade today where the stable have fitted blinkers for the first time. Rachel King is the new pilot and gets all the favours jumping from gate one here. Already a two-time winner at the track and distance, he should prove hard to run down.
