Northam Tips 16/11/2022
BEST BET 🏆
Race 5 No. 6 MADAME MAGIC – ($2.30)
We’ll be backing the impressive debut winner MADAME MAGIC to produce again and score here. Taken back from the wide barrier where the filly was inclined to over race under Joseph Azzopardi. He’s looped the field on her to build up the middle of the track, against the recent pattern of Ascot. Madam Magic lengthened beautifully to overwhelm her rivals late over the 1200 metres and found herself a considerable margin in front shortly after the post. Should be enough speed to string the field out, enabling Azzopardi to settle into a comfortable position one-off early.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6 No. 1 MARKET STRYKE – ($4.80)
Liked the return of MARKET STRYKE in a good one metro winner event which rated as a BM72 from the top weight. They didn’t go along overly hard with Holly Watson giving her mount the gun-run behind the leader. Just became boxed in for a run halfway up the straight as those out wider came with momentum. Market Stryke was okay to the line once clear and will have taken little harm from the run. Disappointed when we followed last start as Holly Watson gave him every conceivable out in front. Tongue tie goes on with a change of apprentice in Luke Campbell, plus Market Stryke may well have still needed the run.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 4 No. 2 MOI CHOUX – ($9.50)
Port Kennedy trainer Summer Dickson has found a nice kick-off point for her new acquisition in MOI CHOUX. He’s a burly sort of gelding who will take benefit from this first-up run for more than 18 months off. Moi Choux impressed at the recent Lark Hill trials where he showed speed to control the early proceedings. Continued to trial well within himself under his heavyweight race day rider Brad Rawiller who asked little of him. Moi Choux completed his trial as the fastest heat of the morning in what would have been a nice cleanout. Rawiller can afford his mount a comfortable run behind the speed to present into the straight.
