Race 6 No. 9 RUSSIAN DANCER- ($3)
RUSSIAN DANCER should be hard to beat in Race 6 of the day at Pakenham after a last start effort that saw him finish a narrow runner-up at the track and trip behind Grand Pierro on September 22. He led that day and was run down late, putting a three length gap on the rest. The son of Impending went 4.3 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is better than what any horse in this race has produced to date. He has attracted support in the early betting and will be ridden by Will Price.

Race 5 No. 5 LE GAGNEUR- ($10)
LE GAGNEUR can go close at the each-way odds in Race 5. The gelding from the Griffiths & de Kock stable returned at Pakenham on the Synthetic on August 28 and settled handy before running 6th behind Kaygeebee over the 1200m. He was held up until the 300m before getting out and sticking on. Form from that has held up with the winner going on the score again, while the runner-up, Berardino, placed at Listed level at Flemington on the weekend. He can be an improver at his second run back and the each-way odds present appeal.
