Race 5 No. 8 RED CARD- ($4.60)

Loved the win by RED CARD at Moonee Valley over the 955m a couple of Friday’s ago and the Godolphin filly can go on with the job in Race 5. She was too good for them in a Maiden at Hawkesbury two starts ago over the 1000m then went 5.9 lengths faster than standard at the Valley, which is the best figure than what any horse in this race has produced. The daughter of Ribchester looks up to the rise to BenchMark 70 and can lead or box seat from barrier 1.

Race 6 No. 1 CORNER POCKET- ($6)

Market might be the best guide closer to the race but unless there is a drift on CORNER POCKET, I am keen on the six-year-old at his first run back from a spell. The Lindsey Smith-trained galloper has won eight of 13 and made just one appearance in the spring, finishing 3rd at Listed level in the Chautauqua Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley. At his preparation prior, the son of Toronado went 10 lengths faster than standard when fresh to score at Flemington over the 1400m. The likelihood of a Good track is a bonus and he saves ground from barrier 1 with the 2kg claimer, Thomas Stockdale, to ride.

Race 8 No. 1 REGARDSMAREE- ($8.50)

REGARDSMAREE can go close in the VOBIS Gold Bullion. The Nick Ryan-trained mare was ok in stronger company at her first two runs this preparation before heading to Moonee Valley during the carnival and finishing runner-up behind Winning Partner over the 1500m. The six-year-old overcame a wide run that night to stick on, going 7.8 lengths faster than standard. Six weeks in between runs a slight query but she does have a class edge on some of these and she loves the 1400m.

Race 7 No. 3 FUTURE SCORE- ($10)

The feature is the Pakenham Cup and FUTURE SCORE comes into calculations after a last start effort that saw him place 4th in the Ballarat Cup (2200m) on November 19. The veteran settled handy to the lead that day before sticking to the slower side of the track on the inside. We put him into the black book after that and the Matt Cumani-trained galloper does seem to be going better than what he was a year ago when 7th in this race. Another that saves ground from an inside gate, he can feature in the finish.
