BEST BET 🏆   

Race 4 No. 1 DOLLAR CHASER- ($3.20) 

DOLLAR CHASER can chalk up a victory in Race 4. The five-year-old has been close up at his past four starts and was a half a length 4th at Flemington over the 1200m two starts ago before tackling a BenchMark 70 over the 1100m at that venue and landing 6th, beaten under two lengths. He was held up that day. The locally trained galloper drops back to the 1000m and his three wins have come at the distance, including one at Pakenham. 

NEXT BEST 🥈   

Race 8 No. 9 THINKING RAIN- ($3.90) 

Keen on THINKING RAIN in the final race of the evening. The four-year-old has been in solid form since she switched to the Anabel Neasham camp. She was a winner two starts ago in a race where there was a big gap to 3rd, while at her most recent start, she just went down behind Aiming at Sandown. The winner out of that has since finished a narrow runner-up behind the promising, Sea What I See, at Moonee Valley. Thinking Rain went 6.1 lengths faster than standard benchmark last time, which is a better figure than what any horse in this race has produced. 

BEST VALUE 💰   

Race 6 No. 5 RETENIR- ($6.50) 

This looks to be a suitable assignment for RETENIR. The Matthew Ellerton-trained galloper claimed her Maiden when resuming at Benalla over the 1112m two starts ago before jumping to a BenchMark 64 and running 5th behind Patchouli Dream. They went at a solid tempo in that race and she stuck on in ok fashion. The three-year-old drops to a BenchMark 58 and comes into this third up, while she draws to save ground from barrier 2.
