Race 6 No. 6 THE MANSMAN  ($3.80) 

THE MANSMAN can break the Maiden in Race 6. The Philip Stokes-trained galloper comes off a six-week freshen up and has finished runner-up at his past two starts with those coming at Geelong and then Cranbourne. He settled handy and just missed in a head-bobber behind Little Jack, 1.1 lengths slower than standard benchmark. Anything around that mark should see him be hard to beat in this race

Race 1 No.3 JIMBROOK ($11) 

JIMBROOK shapes as a value bet in the opener at Pakenham. The four-year-old has had just the one career start with that coming at Geelong on January 28 over the 1306m. He was slowly away in that race before settling back and running on late for 5th behind Balabushka. The Andrew Campbell-trained galloper went three lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner and the second best that any horse in this race has produced in their careers. Step up to the 1600m should suit.
