BEST BET 🏆   

Race 6 No. 1 MODOWN- ($2.40) 

MODOWN should be hard to beat in Race 6. The Charlotte Littlefield galloper has had the five starts for a win and two runner-up performances. He resumed over the 1200m here on February 28 and cleared out with Lively before going down in a head-bobber. Those two gapped the rest and it is worth noting that the 4th placegetter has since come out and claimed a BenchMark 64. A winner at his only career second up run, the son of Toronado will be ridden by Craig Williams.

Race 3 No.9 SHE’S BULLETPROOF- ($3.65) 

SHE’S BULLETPROOF can get the job done in Race 3 at Pakenham. The three-year-old resumed off an 11-week break at Flemington on Australian Guineas day, stepping out over the 1100m. She settled back in that race and ran on strongly to just miss behind Diamond Decorator and Illative, who has since come out and won. The daughter of Shooting To Win drops in grade and was a winner when second up at her last preparation. Look for her to run over the top of them late in the piece.

Race 4 No. 7 RUSSIAN ESCAPE- ($4.40) 

Nice improvement by RUSSIAN ESCAPE at Sandown on March 6 and the Mark & Levi Kavanagh-trained galloper can go a few spots better after running 4th behind Quickstep over the 1300m. He was well back on debut over the 1100m at Werribee before overcoming a wide run at Sandown to land just over two lengths from the winner, going 0.5 lengths slower than standard benchmark. That is a better figure than what any horse in this race has produced. He just needs an ounce of luck from the wide barrier in the early stages to feature at the business end.
