Race 7 No. 8 BISHOP ROCK – ($8.50)
BISHOP ROCK can go close in Race 7. The six-year-old has been excellent at his past three runs, which have all been at the track and trip. He was a winner here two starts ago and at his most recent start he settled back and lost ground as they approached the turn before letting down well in the straight to run 4th, beaten just under a length behind Helicopter. He meets that horse better at the weights and might settle a little closer this time around. No reason to suggest why the son of Fastnet Rock can be a factor at the business end.

Race 7 No. 8 SABAID – ($8.50)
SABAID shapes as a value player in Race 2 at Pakenham. The five-year-old is winless in eight starts but has been solid at his last two runs, which have both come on Synthetic tracks. He worked home well for 3rd at Ballarat two starts ago before heading to Pakenham on August 8. That came over the 1200m and she settled last in the field of 12 before producing the fastest late splits to land the exacta behind Merry Mac Boy. The son of Fighting Sun produced a career best to go 5.5 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which are the second best last start figures of any runner. He might land a little closer in the run from barrier 7 and is right in this at the each-way quote.
