Race 3 No. 1 DANTELA ($4.40)

Rochelle Milnes is getting close to another win aboard Dantela who has been well placed again. The pair found themselves a little further back than expected here two starts ago. They became held-up for runs before getting home when it was all over. Milnes gave the horse a nice ride through the early stages last time before getting off the fence into the straight. Dantela just missed in a driving go and meets similar again here on Sunday.

Race 1 No. 3 INTO THE WOOD ($4.40)

The hot local stable of John Dunn & Krystal Bishop nearly upset punters when they trained the quinella of the 1350 metre maiden here on New Year’s Eve. INTO THE WOOD settled towards the tail of the field during the run before looming ominously into the straight. Favourite backers had their hearts in their mouths over the concluding stages as the heavily-fancied stablemate Hotfootit burst through along the fence to hold a narrow margin over Into The Wood who put in a late dive out wide. Over-raced under apprentice Nichola Yuen before going down narrowly when the stable got their horse out to 1750 metres two starts ago. We were on following a let-up from that run into 1350 metres only to watch Into The Wood get home for second last start. Can be right in the finish again if he relaxes over the journey this time around.

Race 7 No. 4 Enbarr ($10)

Murray Henderson must overcome a tricky gate in the Kimba cup if he is to upset some of his more fancied rivals aboard ENBARR. The horse has been getting back in his runs lately; however, we’d love to see him go forward from the gate. Enbarr has done all his best racing when getting up onto the speed with his best being good enough to see him amongst the finish. Henderson attempted to do so in the recent Peninsula Cup, only to find the speed clamped right on. He was caught three and four wide at various stages of that race while racing on the pace. I Need A Drink and The Art Of Flying both found better runs in the race to leave Enbarr to take out third place. Trainer Shylie Williams missed the Port Lincoln Cup with Enbarr, targeting this race instead.
