BEST BET 🏆
Race 7: No.4 ELARSKI ($1.95 with bet365)
The Kris Lees-trained ELARSKI is third-up today and will be out to avenge her tragic defeat at Scone. Last start, she lined-up in a BM66 over 1300m at the Scone track and was a tragedy beaten when finishing fourth that day in the 11-strong field. She never saw daylight until it was all but over, finishing strongly at the end. Aaron Bullock retains the ride, having steered her to victory at Taree two starts back. Ideally drawn here in gate two, she maps to be box-seating on settling and given some room to move on straightening, you can expect a big improvement from her today.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 8: No.6 BETTER JUDGEMENT ($1.80 with Palmerbet)
Kris Lees could be in line for a race-to-race double as he saddles-up BETTER JUDGEMENT here who is third-up and looks poised to make it two from three today. Last start, the Press Statement filly came off a first-up maiden win at Taree when she faced a BM58 Hcp over 1200m at Scone. Not given a minute’s peace up front, she eventually settled back in second place on the fence. She took over (momentarily) on straightening and fought on well, but was no match for the winner that day and weakening over the last 50m, finished a close-up fourth. Aaron Bullock takes the reins for this contest and from gate two, gets all the favours as she maps to settle in the first half-dozen. Fitter for two runs back, her track debut today could turn out to be a winning one.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 3: No.5 OBLIVION ($5 with Ladbrokes)
Local galloper OBLIVION is third-up today and back on his home track, he looks the one to beat here. Last start, the Winning Rupert gelding was second-up and in need of the run when he finished mid-field in a BM66 Hcp over 1000m at Taree. He ran that out, 2 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best last start effort here and a new personal best for him as well. He gets the gun-run from gate one today and Aaron Bullock returns for his second ride on the four-year-old. Fitter for two runs back and already a winner on his home track, he looks in the mix at odds today.
