 BEST BET 🏆

Race 8:  No.8  FRILLED

The Matthew Smith-trained FRILLED is unbeaten in five starts to date and looks well placed here to keep her record intact. Last start, the Star Witness mare kept the ball rolling at Moonee Valley where she had to fight hard that day, but prevailed in the end, taking out a BM78 over 955m with Damien Oliver aboard. She has trialled twice since then and won both of those as well. Kerrin McEvoy is the new pilot here and from an ideal draw in gate three, she maps to lead and they will have to run her down.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 3:  No.3  ANOTHER WIL

The Ciaron Maher-trained ANOTHER WIL is yet to miss a podium finish after four career starts and second-up here, he looks up to this and should make his mark in his Sydney debut. Last start, the Street Boss gelding resumed off a six-month absence and did it in style when he clobbered a BM64 field over 1400m at Sandown. With Jamie Kah on board that day, he sat just off the pace then at the 300m mark, took over and raced away to win by 3.5 lengths in the end. Already a winner when second-up, he is a promising type who can get the job done in this contest.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 10:  No.3  TINTOOKIE

Brad Widdup saddles-up TINTOOKIE here who is third-up and ticks all the right boxes that suggest she can take home the major prize in this contest. Last start, the Winning Rupert mare came off a good win in BM78 company on this track when she lined up against a similar field at Rosehill and beat all but one home that day. Kerrin McEvoy was aboard for both those runs and he remains the pilot here. The mare returns to Randwick where she boasts an impressive record, winning two of her six starts at the track and McEvoy is yet to miss a podium finish with her after four rides to date. She has gate six and will most likely settle mid-field (in her usual racing style) and with a trouble-free run, she looks a serious player against this field.
