BEST BET 🏆

Race 10:  No.2  DEMOCRACY MANIFEST  ($3.60 with Neds)

Chris Waller saddles-up a few here and among them is DEMOCRACY MANIFEST who is in great touch and looks the pick of the stable for this contest. Last start, the Flying Artie gelding brought-up the hat-trick for podium finishes when he beat all but one to the line in a BM78 Hcp over 1400m at Rosehill. He did it the hard way that day, jumping from the outside gate (11) and after settling last, made up a ton of ground to finish within a length of the winner. He ran a new personal best that day, covering the 1400m, 7.2 lengths quicker than benchmark, also the best in this line-up, while running the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race as well. He is fives starts into this campaign and has only missed a top-three finish once. Meeting similar opposition here, he looks the testing type in this event.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6:  No.4  AUTHENTIC JEWEL  ($4.40 with Palmerbet)

The Brad Widdup-trained AUTHENTIC JEWEL has improved with every run this preparation and now looks ready to win. Last start, the I Am Invincible mare found the podium for the first time this preparation when she beat all but one home in a BM78 Hcp over 1100m at Rosehill. She clobbered the stats sheet that day, setting a new personal best by covering the trip, 10.2 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here by more than 3 lengths. Jay Ford remains on board for this contest, having already ridden the four-year-old to three of her four career-wins to date. Fighting fit after three runs back, she looks a major contender in this event.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7:  No.5  SKY COMMAND  ($12 with bet365)

The Rosehill-based SKY COMMAND ironically holds a superb record on the Randwick track and in great touch of late, looks a serious player here. Last start, the Deep Field mare made it three-straight podium finishes when she beat all but Zethus to the line in the Listed Starlight Stakes, here over 1100m. She covered that trip, 8.9 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best last-start in this field. Regan Bayliss has been in the saddle for her past three starts and sticks with her in this contest. She jumps from gate three here and maps to settle in the first half dozen, with cover. At her peak now after five starts this time in and already a winner at the track and trip, she will be a force in this event at (currently) double-figure odds.
