BEST BET 🏆
Race 6: No.3 INSURRECTION ($5.50 with Unibet)
The Michael Freedman-trained INSURRECTION is yet to miss a podium finish in four starts this preparation and looks well placed here to continue that trend. Last start, the well-bred Russian Revolution colt easily accounted for a Three-Year-Old Hcp at Warwick Farm where he put almost two lengths on them in the 1100m event. He ran that out, 7 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best last-start effort here by more than 3 lengths, also setting a new personal best. Blake Shinn is legged aboard for the first time and although this contest looks a little tougher, he draws nicely in gate six and with a trouble-free run here, he looks a serious contender for the major prize.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7: No.10 A LOT MORE LOVE ($10 with BlueBet)
Rosehill galloper A LOT MORE LOVE is in great touch this time in and is very capable of upsetting them in this contest. Last start, the Sebring filly made it back-to-back victories when she cleaned up in the Reginald Allen Quality (Listed), here over 1400m. Crossing the line almost two lengths in front of them where she set a new personal best, running the trip, 5.8 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field. She also posted the fastest final 600m for the race. Brenton Avdulla steered her to those two previous wins and remains in the saddle here. Ideally drawn in gate three, she gets all the favours from there while the red-hot Godolphin favourite has to deal with jumping from the outside gate. If this filly can be far enough in front of the James Cummings-trained colt, she could possibly steal the race from under him. At odds here, she looks well worth an each-way ticket.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 9: No.11 NEVER TALK ($21 with bet365)
The Kris Lees-trained NEVER TALK is third-up here and ticks enough boxes to warrant being considered an each-way chance here at big odds. Last start, the No Nay Never mare gave a great account of herself when she beat all but one home in The Nvision at Group 3 level, here on a Heavy 10 over 1200m. She ran that out, 7.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, second-best here to Swats That (who draws wide here in gate 11). She also posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for that black-type contest. Already a winner when third-up, Jason Collett sticks with her and after five minor placings with the mare, will be going all out to break the drought here.
