BEST BET 🏆
Race 3: No.2 HELLFIRE EXPRESS
The Annabel Neasham-trained HELLFIRE EXPRESS is in white-hot form this time in and looks well placed here to bring up career-win number five today. Last start, the Hellbent gelding went into a BM72 Hcp at Canterbury with a hat-trick of wins behind him but on that day, found one a little better, having to settle for second prize in the 1550m event. The scene looks set for a return to the winner’s circle today where he gets the gun-run from gate one, along with a new rider as Regan Bayliss is legged aboard for this assignment. With a trouble-free run today, he looks the one to beat.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 5: No.1 MORNING SUN
Another from the Neasham stable is MORNING SUN who is second-up today and seeing Randwick for the first time. Last start, the British-sired gelding was having his first start on Australian soil and impressed when beating all but one to the line in a BM72 over the mile at Warwick Farm. The five-year-old is a two-time winner over 2000m so the step-up to 1800m today looks ideal. Jett Stanley remains in the saddle for this assignment and brings a 2kg claim with him. A winner when second-up last preparation, the imported galloper looks right in the mix today.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6: No.4 SALUTE AGAIN
The Wagga-based SALUTE AGAIN is second-up today and boasting previous success in the city, looks well placed here to score again. Last start, the Starspangledbanner gelding resumed off a 22-week absence when he came from last to win in Open company over 1200m on his home track. He missed the start by a length that day but still had too many guns for them in the end. Already a two-time winner when second-up and a winner on the main track here, he draws nicely in gate four today and looks well worth an each-way ticket.
