BEST BET 🏆
Race 8: No.2 BOLD RUMBLE ($2.35 with Palmerbet)
Bold Enforcer’s stablemate BOLD RUMBLE lines up here who looks a good thing to bring up the hat-trick today. Last start, the Spirit Of Boom gelding franked his Maiden win two starts back by taking out the Class 1 Hcp, here over the 1050m sprint. He ran that out, 9.5 lengths slower than benchmark which is still the best last-start effort in this line-up. Ryan Wiggins was aboard that day and has enjoyed five rides on the four-year-old to date. Wiggins takes the reins again today and from gate three, has options a plenty available to him. He maps to settle in the first half-dozen and may even lead. Already a track and distance winner, he looks the testing material again.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6: No.1 BOLD ENFORCER ($2.80 with Palmerbet)
Coming good at the right time, the Garnett Taylor-trained BOLD ENFORCER has improved enough to warrant serious thought in this contest. Last start, the son of Zariz missed by the barest possible margin when he beat all but one home (again) in a 1600m Maiden on his home track at the Sunshine Coast. In that narrow loss, he ran his last 600m, 1.3 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here by more than 5 lengths. Ideally drawn today, he maps to settle mid-field with cover and has regular stable rider Ryan Wiggins in the saddle. The long (600m) home straight suits him perfectly here and will prove hard to hold out in the run to the line.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 5: No.2 WAY BACK WHEN ($3.50 with bet365)
The locally-trained WAY BACK WHEN has begun this campaign in great style and looks well placed here for another top finish. Last start, the Redoute’s Choice gelding was second-up and went one better when he cruised to victory in a Class 2 Hcp over 1300m at Mackay. Settling mid-field that day, he finished best, putting more than a length on them over the line. He posted the fastest final 800m for the race as well. Ryan Wiggins has his first ride on the six-year-old today and back on home soil, he should prove hard to beat here.
