If you are looking for an ‘Anchor Bet’ today, look no further than AGE OF INNOCENCE in this contest. The locally-trained mare has a glowing resume who has won six of her past eight starts and this contest looks hers for the keeping. Last start, the four-year-old destroyed her Class 6 rivals in a 1300m event at Mackay. She ran the trip out, 2.5 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best last-start effort here by 4 lengths. She also recorded the fastest final 600m, 400m and 200m sectionals for the race. Ryan Wiggins settled her in front and from there, it was a procession as she put three lengths on them over the line. Back on her home track today, she meets similar company and carries the same weight, with Wiggins remaining aboard for the ride. She looks the best of the day in the small field.

Race 7: No.3 PARKBURN ($3.60 with Palmerbet)
Local trainer, Jamie McConachy, saddles-up PARKBURN here who resumes here after putting together seven-straight podium finishes and ticks all the boxes here to keep that trend going today. Last start, the Golden Archer gelding ended his last campaign finishing third, in a somewhat disappointing finish as a drifting favourite. Settling second in the race, he took over on straightening, but weakened over the last 100m, beaten two lengths on the line. He has spent the last six months in the paddock but recently returned to work with an impressive trial win. Justin Stanley was aboard for his past three runs and has the job again today. Already a winner on fresh legs, he is a two-time winner at the track and distance and will take beating here.
